Butterflies & Kit-Cats
It was my sis's birthday yesterday and amongst her many other (millions of) presents, I accessorised a mini-birdcage I found with butterflies...it's pretty and is now hanging from the ceiling in our sitting room:
I don't think our boys have noticed it....yet! George & Kenny caught on camera this evening next to the jukebox! (they're currently kit-cats - 1/2 kitten / 1/2 cat...with eyes for butterflies!):

Monkeys, Bees & Bags
Been a busy bee in the cushion factory...here's a bee for Beatrice and a pair of monkeys for Florence and Pandora (born on Sat 12th Sept - birth dates hand-stitched on!)
I was over the moon this morning when the delivery man arrived with my carrier bags and tissue paper - blue & pink of course! I can't really think of anyone else who would take the time to post (and get excited about posting!) a photo of carrier bags on their blog...but here they are!!

Business Cards and Lambada
Having completed a Photoshop course last year (love Photoshop), I did some freelance business card designing...well...I had one commission (as well as designing my own of course)! This was for one of my fellow personal trainer trainees (another course - 2008 was the year of courses!!) who is a professional and amazing Lambada teacher/dancer - here's her website and below is the card...it all matches...cunning! http://www.patriciacruzlambada.com/And here are mine - blue for boys, pink for girls...they came with badges too, I still have hundreds!!
On a final, kitten-related note, my sister and I have 2 and here is 1 earlier today 'helping' reply to a few emails:

Folksy!!
Despite promising myself that I'd wait until I had at least 12 cushions finished, photographed and ready for uploading to 'Folksy', I just couldn't wait any longer...so they're there, on Folksy, ready to be commissioned :)
Oooooh, one more thing - I also found, amongst many, this PC of Robbie (dare I say his name!) picked up from the National Portrait Gallery on a rare cultural outing - I LOVE this picture, so on-trend with the union jack!!...he's making a comeback...isn't he??
As was the fashion this w/e, I spent a lot of time searching through my old sketch books and notebooks (I studied Architecture at university...once upon a time!) to scan photos and scribbles of various things...I came across some photos of a model I made while doing some work experience at Foster + Partners many summers ago - quite proud!

Back To The Beginning...Part 1
Having spent this evening scanning photographs of some of my earlier creative endeavours (within the last 10 years!), I thought I should share them...I spent a couple of months back in 2002/03 making handbags, make-up bags and purses which I sold at Spitalfields Market and a handful of pre-Christmas craft fairs - most of the bags I made from scratch but some were shop-bought and accessorised with ribbons and swarovski crystals and various other bits & pieces - butterflies too!
My all-time favourite is the satchel type bag (pictured at the bottom) with the dragon motif, swarovski crystals and blue/pink ribbons - I still use it and it's stood the test of time well!! In fact, it was spotted by someone in a bar one evening who commissioned me to make one for her, the best form of advertising!
